Material Tested by the Biology Subject Tests
There are two Subject Tests in Biology. One focuses on ecology and the other focuses on molecular biology. Students who are comfortable answering questions about biological communities, populations, and energy flow should take Biology E (Ecology) and students who are comfortable answering questions about biochemistry, cellular structure, and processes like respiration and photosynthesis should take Biology M (Molecular). Students are allowed to take both tests if they want to, but not on the same day.
Both Biology tests include the following material:

  • Cellular and Molecular Biology
  • Ecology
  • Classical Genetics
  • Organismal Biology
  • Evolution and Diversity
