What is covered on the SAT Subject Test in Math Level 1?
The Subject Test in Math Level 1 covers material that a student who has completed two years of algebra and one year of geometry should know:
- Geometry (Euclidean)
- Solid Geometry
- Coordinate Geometry
- Statistics and Sets
The trigonometry required for the Level 1 test is basic enough to be covered in most geometry courses (right triangles, sine, cosine, and tangent).

This incredible book forms the backbone for our course.
Should I Take Math Level 1 Or Level 2?
Consider your college requirements when deciding which exam to take. Some colleges will require that students take the Level 2 exam; others will not specify. Students who have not taken pre-calculus/trigonometry should take the Level 1 test. While there is some overlap between the two tests, the emphasis on the Level 2 exam is on advanced content that is not covered in algebra or geometry.
